ORGANIZING WORK

NY RENEWS

• Video Working Group Facilitator | Video Producer (2023 - present) •

I lead a sub group of the NY Renews Media and Communications Committee to develop and implement a video strategy that bolsters intra-coalition communications and public narrative around the Climate, Jobs & Justice Campaign and broader climate justice movement engagement. Once a project is approved, I produce and direct it.  Check out CLIMATE LAW 101!

  • Thematically, we aim to offer a video medium through which to understand the work that we do collectively (coalition members + coalition base); how we are moving the needle (as a climate justice movement and as an intersectional part of other social justice movements); what and specifically, who, we’re up against (primarily, the fossil fuel industry); how to get involved .

Together, we develop concepts and draft scripts for key campaign videos and social media clips.

Once approved by committee, I produce and direct the content through pre-production, production, and post-production.

• Coalition Organizing Fellow (2022 – 2023) •

NY Renews “Projects of the People’s Climate Justice Budget” Video Playlist

Community-led climate solutions! That's what we're organizing for. Clean air, community gardens, restored public lands, and a climate-ready sustainable workforce are just a few solutions to tackling the effects of the climate crisis.

The People's Climate Justice Budget would implement this vision by funding community-led projects from Brentwood to Buffalo, including renewable projects and infrastructure to protect our communities, create sustainable jobs, and prioritize the health and safety of our people and planet. These five videos show how the People’s Climate Justice Budget will shape the future of sustainability in New York, and what our state can look like when we empower our communities to lead the charge of taking care of each other and the planet.

SHUT THE FOSSILS UP ( STFU )! CAMPAIGN

an STFU x YELLOW DOT STUDIOS collaboration

• Project Coordinator | Organizer (2023 - present) •

The STFU campaign calls out fossil fuel industry lies and bolsters public awareness of climate justice opposition in NY state using satirical videos and internet content. Affectionately referred to as the “belly laugh rebellion” to protect our climate, the STFU movement mobilizes to shut the fossils up!

Threatened by the power of New York's grassroots organizing for climate justice action, the fossil fuel industry wages all-out campaigns of public disinformation and government lobbying to stop our progress. They spending millions of dollars to maintain their obscene profits at the expense of our lives. You can read more about their Greenwashing, Gaslighting, and Price-Gouging on the STFU website.

Nevertheless, we know the best answer to organized money is organized people. Sign up to join the STFU movement.

Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, Brooklyn Neighborhood Group (2022 - present)

Black Women’s March, volunteer (2020 - 2021)
